Over a 10 year period, director Linus Mørk has followed Danish DNA-scientist Eske Willerslev closely around the world and given a vivid and empathic presentation of the biggest triumphs and crises of his career. Linus’ ambition has been not only to document a top scientist’s hunt for new discoveries but also to focus on the larger ethical and political dilemmas surrounding his work – and to do so in an entertaining format full of humour and emotion. The result is a series of scientific adventures in which the road to new discoveries is rife with ethical dilemmas, political agendas and personal ambitions.
